Shanghai, September 11, 2020–The Shanghai Mental Health Center (SMHC) and Mindfront Health, a subsidiary of Luye Life Sciences Group, entered into a strategic partnership today. The two parties will work together to bring world-leading international mental health treatment systems and models to China and develop unique EBM (Evidence-based Medicine) treatment programs and integrated interdisciplinary treatment service systems. Designed to be suitable for the Chinese public, they will help patients to return to a normal life. The VIP guests who were present at the signing ceremony included Professor Xu Yifeng, President of SMHC, Professor Yu Xin from the Peking University Sixth Hospital, Professor Li Tao, Director of the Mental Health Center, Sichuan University West China Hospital, Professor Liu Tiebang, President of Shenzhen Kangning Hospital, Professor Zhang Ning, Vice President of Nanjing Brain Hospital, Mr. Liu Dianbo, Chairman of Luye Life Sciences Group, and Mr. Tang Dekai, CEO of Mindfront Health China, along with mental health experts from many parts of China. They also held discussions on the development of international mental health services.

The Shanghai’s Mental Health System Development Program 2020-2030 issued a clear call to build a world-leading mental health system, starting with young children, juveniles and women in the perinatal period, and to put a premium on talent training. President Xu Yifeng said: “Guided by the Program, the collaboration between SMHC and Mindfront Health is of great significance. We place enormous value on the international background of Mindfront Health. Its unique mental health treatment systems and models are world-leading, and its clinical practices and academic accomplishments also have global reach. We intend to build very close and very pragmatic collaboration systems in areas such as interdisciplinary team cooperation, diagnosis and treatment mechanisms, and academic development, so that each can leverage the strength of the other. And we intend to do our part in promoting the development of mental health services in China.”
A major feature of this partnership is to bring Mindfront Health’s EBM interdisciplinary diagnosis and treatment services to China. This will effectively convert and adopt treatments integrating mental, psychological, physical, group and expressive arts therapies in China with local reality, and create an individualized EBM system for mental health fully adapted to Chinese requirements. Meanwhile, the two parties will leverage online + offline service models to provide comprehensive and integrated interdisciplinary services for young children, juveniles and adults with mild-to-moderate mental disorders, and to offer individualized EBM treatments for mental disorders adapted to the needs of Chinese patients.

In the future, through organizational collaboration, talent training, clinical exchanges, and academic visits, SMHC and Mindfront Health will explore and share frontier clinical diagnosis and treatment models and promote academic development. Through consultation, remote support and case discussions, they will seek to improve clinical diagnosis and treatment skills for difficult and complicated cases. They will create mechanisms and processes in areas such as two-way referral, consultation and green channels to expand their service capabilities and provide better, more convenient and more diverse services to the public.
Mindfront Health will also create four national mental health centers in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Chengdu, which will reach out and provide online Internet hospital services to North China, East China, South China and Southwest China respectively. Mindfront Health is also looking to collaborate closely with more public institutions to share technologies, resources, and specialists, and to help protect mental health.
△Mental Health Experts Have Panel Discussion Together
After the signing ceremony, moderated by Professor Yu Xin from the Peking University Sixth Hospital, a round-table session took place on the topic of how private mental health medical institutions can help to meet diverse medical needs. The panelists included Professor Xu Yifeng, President of SMHC, Professor Li Tao, Director of the Mental Health Center, Sichuan University West China Hospital, Professor Liu Tiebang, President of Shenzhen Kangning Hospital, Professor Zhang Ning, Vice President of Nanjing Brain Hospital, and Mr. Tang Deke, CEO of Mindfront Health China.
The participating guests also expressed that public hospitals and private hospitals will have greater space for collaboration from multiple standpoints, including the content and accessibility of mental health services, the allocation of the capacities and resources of physicians, and the diversity and scientific reliability of diagnosis and treatment services. It is hoped that the SMHC-Mindfront Health model can be effectively adopted in many other regions, to launch more mature non-drug treatment programs in China, to enable mild-to-moderate patients to receive treatment of international standard, and to allow them to lead more normal lives.
